At this time, Verkada does not offer a PTZ-capable camera. The D30 and D50 are both vari-focal dome cameras, meaning that they are designed to offer high-quality image with flexibility in the field of view. Camera zoom and focus can be adjusted remotely in Command; and our software dynamically adjust the iris for ideal image clarity. But aiming of the camera must be done manually on site.
  • What happens if lots of my authorized users try to view video at the same time?

  • Local Grids, D40 Audio, Pause/frame-by-frame, and Deleting cameras"
Here's the rundown on what our Product and Eng teams have recently delivered... - Local Grids — all users now have the ability to define the default video quality for a grid. Choosing Local means that all cameras on the same LAN will stream over the local network with low latency. Users also have the ability to choose Live streams, which deliver low latency even over a cloud connection. Learn how to set the default video quality here. - Audio support for D40s — Audio is now supported for all D40s. To learn how to enable audio, read this article. - Pause and frame by frame — Pausing and incrementing a single frame is now supported on the keyboard. Simply hit the space bar and arrow keys in History Player. - Delete camera — We added a Delete button on the Cameras page for Site Administrators. For protection of critical data, we have included a confirmation page to make sure that users don’t delete cameras accidentally. As a reminder, deleting a camera removes all footage and metadata from the Command platform (archives, historical thumbnails, etc.) and deletes all footage stored on the camera. Once a camera is deleted, neither the user nor Verkada support or engineering staff will be able to retrieve footage for that camera from Command or from the camera. Read more about the delete button in this article. - Archives — Archives are now sorted from newest to oldest, making it easier to find recent clips. That's it for this week, stay tuned here for more updates!

Depending on the device model, these recordings may represent up to 120 days of continuously recorded video and audio. Once the maximum storage capacity for a device is reached, the Verkada system will automatically delete all data that is stored on the camera — and in the cloud — beginning with the oldest recordings. Unless you have archived recordings in Command, no versions or copies of those recordings will be retained — they will be permanently deleted from on-camera storage and the cloud. • Managing and renewing your Command software licenses
Verkada makes managing your licenses easy. This document will explain how Command calculates license renewal dates and how we work with customers to manage renewals. Command Licenses Each device in Command requires a license. Licenses are typically purchased with a camera, but may also be purchased separately from cameras, such as for a license renewal. Each Organization must purchase at least as many licenses as the number of cameras in your Organization in Command. Command licenses are purchased for different durations - 1, 3, 5, or 10 years. The “clock” for a license starts counting down upon purchase. As a cloud-connected product, valid Command licenses are required for any Verkada camera to function. License expiration dates Licenses within Command are averaged to calculate a single co-terminated Renewal Date. This date is calculated as the weighted average of the license durations across all cameras in an Organization.
